How to Install IIS in Windows 10 OS

In Windows 10 OS, the Internet Information Services (IIS) is an optional feature that can be installed through Windows Features part of the Control Panel. Follow the below simple steps to install IIS and enable the associated Web development and management components.

  • Open Run window; Click the Start button, type Run in the search box (or simply press Windows key + R).
  • Type the command appwiz.cpl in the Run dialog and click OK to open the Program and Features part in Control Panel.

  • On the top left side, click Turn Windows Features on or off link to open the Windows Features window.
  • In the Windows Features window, click on the Internet Information Services checkbox. You can also select associated IIS components if required.

  • Finally, click OK to enable the IIS feature.
  • Now simply open the localhost URL (http://localhost) in your browser to check the default IIS web page.
